PROPERTY DESCRIPTION

Rockwood Station is situated approximately 112km south of Hughenden, and 107km north of Muttaburra, via the Muttaburra-Hughenden Highway which dissects through the property.

 

Country:

This property is a very high-quality block of country.  It is self-cracking clay soils, mixed with gidgee pebble ridges throughout. Landsborough Channels run through the western side, Jenkins Creek runs through the northern end, and Kybona creek runsthrough the middle.  Grasses are Mitchell, Flinders, Button, Sespania Pea, Buffel and many herbages, such as Brogabri and others. Trees are Whitewood, Bauhinia, Coolibah, Vinewood, Sandalwood and Gundabrey This is probably the best block of country south of Hughenden.  It was a bullock fattening place for Tancreds Meat Company many years ago, and has been renowned as alwaysproducing heavy cattle.  The property has been through 8 dry years, and has had the best start for a while. It is extremely well positioned for the cattle market, being close to southern demand, and still able to go to Townsville for the Live Trade.

Freehold block of 15960 ha (39,437 acres) Plus 1320 ha (3262 acres) of Stock
Route with Permit to Occupy. Total usable area of 42,699 acres.

Rainfall:

Rockwood has received approximately 10 Inches Rain for 2020, and the country has responded well
with grass and herbage growth.

 

Water:

2 GAB Bores tied to the property, and one GAB bore with a water agreement to take water. House bore flows and Mountain bore has a electric pump. Water pumped to nests and gravity feeds over the property. 4 large dams (Full) Over 100 klms of Poly Pipe ranging from 90 mls,75 mls and 63 mls. Maximum distance between waters is 2.5 klms.

 

Yards: Very good set of steel cattle yards at the house, with air/hydraulic crush and cradle. Second set of steel yards that are shared with a neighbour (some conditions) on the southern end of the property.

Fencing:

Fencing is in very good condition. 12 klms of boundary is a Cluster Fence construction. Good quality work has been done on corners and end assembly’s, which prolongs the life of the infrastructure.

Plant & Machinery:

A list of Plant & Equipment will be provided in the future, but will include a CAT 12E grader, Same 4WD Tractor (90 hp), Toyota Land Cruiser and other essential items for management.
